About shoes for Kaye Wiggs MSD dolls

Those of you who design or make dolls outfits for sale know how important the whole look of the outfit is. Meaning the doll should look so pretty that anyone who looks at the picture is immediately converted to a potential customer dyeing to buy that very dress for her own doll.

That means the doll should be dresses to a T.  And have some shoes on.  I remember my grandma's  saying  : " you can have on a very simple and plain dress,  but your shoes should be impeccable."  So, to have a pulled together look my doll should have the shoes on.  Well, some clothing styles  do allow for a bare foot doll, but that's another story.

So, where does one find  really good doll shoes, especially for the dolls like Kaye Wiggs's dolls. The best  in design and quality of workmanship shoes  come from South Korea. Their craftsmen are producing amazing shoes of different sizes, from tiny to big ones, the quality of work and attention to detail is beyond compare. No wonder  they come with a hefty price tag.  With shipping cost the price of the pair of shoes doubles.

I was buying these shoes for my Animators dolls when they needed a decent pair to go with a new pattern I was working on.  The shoes would finish any dress perfectly.

Now, that I have Gracie, my first dolls by Kaye Wiggs, the shoes for her are on top of my to-do list.  I never thought to first  try the shoes for Disney Animators on my new doll, silly me.

Only when browsing the South Korean site did I notice that she shoes I got my the Animators pop up when I query the size of the Gracie'e foot. The measurements turned out to be so very close!

In short,  both dolls do share the same footwear.

So,  all shoes that I am selling for Animators will fit 17 inch Gracie ( and other 17-18 inch dolls by Kaye Wiggs).

The only difference in their feet is that Wiggs girls do not have any arch to speak of, so stacking up a couple of inserts  cut out from the regular craft felt are needed to "lift up" the feet.  That also means that Wiggs dolls can wear Animators shoes and boots with stockings and tights very well and without  adding  the felt inserts.
