Selina summer dress knitting patterns for American Girl dolls.
This is a very special knitting pattern designed for a very special girl who wanted a sleeveless summer dress for her doll.
This is a sleeveless dress wide skirt and fitted bodice.
Zipper closure on the back insures that the dress has a perfect fit.
The rare "rosebud" stitch that is a sweet addition to the lace skirt continues on to the bodice to add its special touch to otherwise simple stockinette background.
The pattern is fully written out but also has a charted skirt pattern for those who prefer to work lace from charts.
The dress is worked flat, from the bottom up, without side seams.
Difficulty level - intermediate.
Yarn used : Patons Lace, 80% acrylic, 10% mohair, 10% wool. 85gr/3oz, 455m/498yds.
Suggested substitute yarns: lightweight yarns preferably with some mohair content to "lighten up" the skirt stitches. Yarn Bee Lace (Hobby Lobby) should work very well too.
Needles used: 2.5mm(US#1) for cast on only
Gauge - 7sts x 9.5 rs =1" (2.5cm) over stockinette stitch with smaller needles.
Use any yarn and any size needles that will give you the required gauge, the gauge is very important, or the finished outfit will not fit your doll.
