Knitting pattern for easy to make basic dress for 16 inch Disney Animators Collection dolls.
This dress is designed to be your "blank canvas" that you can embellish or modify any way you want as there are no complicated shaping or any elements that will prevent you from doing so.
For one dress the use of a fun variegated yarn might be enough, another might need a bit more color and you will add a bow, a flower, an applique or whatever else you find fit.
This is a fun and very quick project that will take you only a couple of hours to make.
This is a basic A-line shape dress with classic short raglan sleeves. Several rows of garter stitch are added for some visual interest, but you may disregard those when working on your own vision of the dress. The dress is worked flat, from the top down
Zipper closure on the back.
You will need fingering 4ply or baby weight yarn, 2.00mm needles (or size to obtain gauge).
The sample was made using Amitola by Louise Harding, 50 gr/3.5oz, 250m/273 yds, 80 %wool/20% silk, color #117, color Smoothie.
- Chroma Fingering by Knit Picks
- Shepherd Baby Wool 4 Ply

Working gauge is 7.5 stitches =1" (2.5cm) over stockinette stitch with 2.00mm (US#0) needles or size to obtain gauge. Row gauge is not important as the dress is knit to measurements.
All embellishments and decorations are optional and will depend on your personal choice.
