Doll Dress Knitting Pattern, Fits American Girl dolls, Summer Clothes for 18 inch Dolls, Selina Dress Pattern, Instant Download,

This is a very special knitting pattern for a very special American Girl doll. I designed this knitting pattern for a girl who wanted a sleeveless summer dress for her 18 inch American Girl doll. The pattern is named after that girl.

A very rare "rosebud" stitch is added as a decorative element to the skirt and the bodice.
The pattern is fully written out but also has a charted skirt pattern for those who prefer to work lace from charts.

This is a sleeveless dress wide skirt and fitted bodice. The "rosebud" stitch begins on the skirt and continues on the front of the bodice as a decorative trim. Garter stitch trims the armholes, the neckline is finished in reverse stockinette.
Zipper closure on the back insures that the dress has a perfect fit.

The dress is worked flat, from the bottom up, without side seams.

Difficulty level - intermediate.

Yarn used : Patons Lace, 80% acrylic, 10% mohair, 10% wool. 85gr/3oz, 455m/498yds.
Suggested substitute yarns: lightweight yarns preferably with some mohair content to "lighten up" the skirt stitches. Yarn Bee Lace (Hobby Lobby) should work very well too.

Needles used: 2.5mm(US#1) for cast on only
2.0mm (US#0)

Gauge - 7sts x 8.5 rs =1" (2.5cm) over stockinette stitch with smaller needles.

Use any yarn and any size needles that will give you the required gauge, the gauge is very important, or the finished outfit will not fit your doll.
