Gigot costume

Design of the cardigan is based on popular in the 16th-19th century sleeves in women’s clothing. They were called gigot sleeves (French for “back leg of an animal”, known also as “leg-of-lamb” sleeves). They are puffy at the shoulders and tight from the elbow to the wrist.

The set includes  instructions for bot the cardigan and the matching skirt (two skirt options).

That way you will be able to make a whole, properly styled outfit for your doll!
The pattern is for an intermediate knitter, though the knitting itself is not as difficult as it might seem.
You have to know basic knitting stitches, including slip stitches, be able to follow pattern chart and know basic crochet to make front band. Many pictures of the work in progress are included.

for the cardigan - 8 sts x 16rs =1"(2.5cm) on slip stitch pattern and 2.00mm needles.
for the skirts - 7 sts x 11 rs =1" (2.5cm) over stockinette stitch.

Yarn : Baby UII yarn , by either Dalegarn or Viking will work very well, but any type of fingering, baby or sport yarn will work well too if you can get the required gauge on your size needles.
